Title: Into the Snow Country — A New Chapter in Environmental Biotechnology
2025 Taiwan-Japan International Academic Exchange — Akita University x Akita Prefectural University x National Formosa University
Event Information:
December 11, 2025 (Thursday), held at Akita University, Akita City, Japan. Come to the snow country this winter and witness a new chapter in environmental and biotechnology.
Registration Period: From now until October 12, 12:00 noon.
Selection Method:
Applicants should prepare the following two items:
- 5-minute presentation in Chinese: Introduction to research or background of a topic (limited to environment- or biotechnology-related subjects)
- 5-minute self-introduction in English
Selection Date: October 13, 2:00 PM (location to be announced separately; 10 students will be selected, each receiving a subsidy of NT$15,000).
Outstanding participants will be selected and awarded subsidy eligibility. They will jointly discuss environmental biotechnology topics with faculty and students from Akita University and Akita Prefectural University. Students may present via oral presentation to develop international academic communication skills, and will visit research laboratories and industry sites to learn about the latest applications of environmental biotechnology. Participants will also have the opportunity to experience snow country culture and broaden their cross-disciplinary international perspective.
